Abstract
This paper presents a non-linear control approach to control a direct rotary dryer. The aim is to control the air temperature inside the dryer, in order to dry particles of biological origin, such as fish meal or soy meal. For this purpose a two-stage control technique will be proposed, the first part is a non-linear control based method and second an IMPC control. In order to control the output air temperature, the manipulated variable will be selected at the inlet air temperature. In order to show the efficient of the proposed control approach, simulations will be carried out considering disturbances in the model. © 2017 IEEE.
