Frequency-Responsive Appliances: The Case of Chile

The growing concerns on the deterioration of frequency control and inertia levels due to renewable integration has lead to an increasing interest in new ways to improve the frequency response of power systems. In such a scenario, demand response from house appliances has been proposed for as a contribution in this sense. This work presents an study on the impact of the integration of frequency-responsive fridges on the Chilean Power System. A simulation is provided to show numerical results. © 2021 IEEE.
